French vocalist Pierre Edel can't be described as "former competitor of The Voice" anymore, because his musical activity proceeds both live and in studio with deserved success. On September 21, Pierre published on YouTube the video of the concert he held in September 2018 at the Mezzo Forte Club in Moscow, where he entertained the audience with rock and roll classics for over an hour.
The band led by Pierre Edel is composed by Dmitry Ursul on guitar, Kirill Zelepukhin on keyboards, Anton Chuiko on bass, Michael Sorokin on drums and two extraordinary singers such as Anna Solo and Lera Green. The team is backed by the sound engineer Igor Baidikov.
During the concert Pierre Edel performs a selection of historical pieces taken from rock and hard rock music of the 70s and 80s, from Bon Jovi to Deep Purple through Styx and David Lee Roth. The band moves perfectly on stage and in each songs Pierre shows off his unmistakable voice, powerful and able to reach very high notes. In addition to the excellent voice of the leader, the two girls also stand out and they immediately give proof of their abilities in Bad Medicine and reiterate them in Hold the Line in which each of them sings a verse leaving the chorus to Pierre.
The concert sees a predominance of fast tracks, with the only exception of Feels Good to Me by Black Sabbath, in which Pierre proves he can compare with Tony Martin. In the setlist, Pierre adds just one blues song with Joe Bonamassa's The Ballad of John Henry, leaving unaltered its psychedelic taste; thanks to the long instrumental parts the song highlights the excellent skills of all musicians, which Pierre introduces with short interviews mounted inside the video between each song and the next one.
The only new song in the setlist is the powerful Rock 'n' Roll Slave (written by Pierre Edel and Dmitry Ursul), a gritty and vibrant AOR piece in full 80's style that allows Pierre, more than the covers, to show his vocal skills. The singer closes the concert with two very strong Deep Purple tracks such as I Can't Do It Right and Burn (which in an interview he said is one of his favorite songs) that surely leave a lot of energy in the audience and a great memory.
Burn fades with the closing credits of this concert by one of the best rock voices in recent years. And at the end of the vision, this video leaves the certainty that the voice is hot, the shape is dazzling and we just have to wait for the next record of new works by this phenomenal singer.
